Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques from various martial arts including boxing, wrestling, BJJ, Thai Kickboxing, and other styles. The roots of modern mixed martial arts can be traced back to the ancient Olympics making one of the world’s oldest sports.

Originally promoted as a competition with the intention of finding the most effective martial arts for real unarmed combat situations, it has evolved to a point where a competitor must be well rounded in all aspects of physical combat (and fitness) to be victorious.

MMA integrates all three phases of combat; Striking, Clinch and Ground.  It is what we have discovered to be the most simple, direct, and efficient means to train and apply to both self-defense and the mixed combative sports. We have found MMA to be the best vehicles for training and developing the necessary attributes to perform effectively under the pressures of an aggressive assault or non-compliant resistance.
