DMA has an extensive and comprehensive kids program, for kids ranging from 8 thru teens. Your child will learn fundamental techniques improving balance, coordination, discipline, self-awareness and self esteem. Don’t be mistaken by your preconceived notions of traditional martial arts classes like karate or Tae Kwon Do. These tradition martial arts classes are usually a series of robotic, redundant movements that have no real-world value. Our Kids Jiu Jitsu program is a combination of functional modern martial arts styles that will have your child fully involved in the class, without repetitious and boring drills. Ages 8 -13
Your child will learn effective, realistic grappling moves from jiu jitsu and wrestling for self-defense and sport. By employing fun games and drills and there is absolutely no “air punching” here.

Unfortunately many children today are exposed to bullying, not only on a physical level but on an emotional and mental level as well. Although we cannot prevent bullying we can try to prepare kids to handle the pressures they face today. Our program strives to increase a child’s self-confidence and self-assurance. We teach the fundamentals of functional, real-world self-defense, however always with the belief that violence is never the answer. Unlike many karate programs that merely teach flashy kicks and useless moves, our program focuses on FUNctional Mixed Martial Arts: training in the disciplines of wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Along with self-defense, your child will have increased athleticism and conditioning for other sports activities as well as overall physical and mental well being.
