I have no martial arts experience and I’m intimidated to try an BJJ class, will I get hurt?

Our classes are designed with safety in mind! You will learn the fundamentals and techniques of BJJ in order to execute moves and drills safely and effectively.  Our instructors are fully involved with the class, making sure all students are performing in a safe manner. Am I too old for BJJ?

I want to learn Martial Arts for self-defense, can you help me with that?

Absolutely! Because most of our training is done live with real, but controlled resistance, you will discover what actually works and what does not. Unlike traditional martial arts like karate which incorporate a lot of non-functional training like forms and katas, we focus on real techniques that work against real people not imaginary opponents. Traditional martial arts training has it’s place for art or cultural preservation, but for real-world application, it is very limited.

I am not very fit and feel embarrassed when I go to the gym. Will I be judged because of my fitness level?
